Santa hats are obviously improved by the addition of pointy ears. Kids have the Star Wars option with the festive red and green Yoda hat, and adults get the more logical blue Star Trek hat featuring Spock’s ears. If you’re going to wear a holiday hat, you may as well just take it here and get some laughs.

Etsy seller Becca Stundel sent us word about her magnificently nerdy knitted Vulcan hat. She describes it thusly:

“You know what would rock? A SPOCK TOUQUE! Like, it would be black, and cut right across your forehead (like his bangs) and his skintone ears would be the part that covers YOUR ears!”

And from that simple request was born “Live Long and Keep Warm”– a hat to transform you (or a friend!) into a perfectly logical being. One size fits most adults, the hat is fairly stretchy and designed to hug the head like a wig.

If you would like to get your hands on one of these hats, it will set you back $30 on the FiveCornersDesign Etsy store.

Leonard Nimoy turned 80 years old over the weekend, so the timing is just right for you to pick up an authentic latex Spock ear from the set of Star Trek: The Motion Picture.

The ear will be going up for auction on April 2nd through Premier Props. The piece is expected to fetch as much as $1000, but don’t be surprised if this tiny piece of movie history goes for more.

From That’s Nerdalicious!: If you are unfamiliar with the Rock Paper Scissors Spock Lizard metagame, this article ought to clear things up.

Speaking of clearing things up, this bib will prevent baby from making a mess while reminding you about the rules of the game. That having been said, baby is only going to play rock and paper (and maybe a lizard by accident), so your strategy should be clear.
